I’ve been really into attending drink + draw sessions this summer, a popular activity hosted by the likes of sip & sketch nyc and this place nyc, who have both gained reputations for their hidden locations and eclectic playlists . It’s such a fun & intimate way to unwind and mingle with friends on a summer evening. That’s why I was inspired to host my own sip + sketch pop up shop with friends Lingua Nigra and Jinaki, who design jewelry and clothing. The idea is to gather a group of creatives, add a live model wearing our designs, and some wine to a create unique + social shopping experience.
We gathered at the WM Gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn, surrounded by bunches of gigantic monstera leaves + exotic flower arrangements along with styles from each of our collections. It was impressive to see our pieces come to life on a model and see each artist’s interpretation of the scene we created. The creativity flowed as freely as the wine, and it was a fun day of collaboration that left everyone feeling relaxed and inspired!
Our model wore a blue denim coordinate by jinaki with the belu pump in white; a floral arrangement with thistle, anthurium and palm leaves; paola and sharufa of Jinaki; inside WM gallery; model paola horber poses outside wm gallery
From left to right: attendees sketching Paola with lingua nigra’s gold + snakeskin earrings, A tablescape featuring exotic blooms, fruits and some stand-out styles from our fall collection, paola posing in Jinaki’s blue denim co-ordinates & the Belu Pump in White, attendees taking in the scene.
